Project Overview:
Polytan successfully secured a contract from AW Edwards for the redevelopment and construction of a multisport field and courts at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) campus in Kensington, NSW.
The project’s scope included site establishment, material and equipment delivery, robust environmental safeguards, quality inspections, and the installation of the sports equipment such as posts, goals, and player shelters. The project strictly adhered to stringent quality and environmental protection measures prioritising safety and environmental preservation.
The synthetic turf field portion of the project featured the installation of LigaTurf HB260, a FIFA Quality and World Rugby certified synthetic grass system. This system included a 25mm insitu elastic layer shock pad and cork infill to deliver an exceptional playing surface. The project involved the supply, installation, and certification of the field ensuring it met the stringent requirements set by international sports governing bodies.
In addition to the synthetic football field, Polytan collaborated with subcontractor, Synthetic Sports Group to resurface the hardcourt areas with Laykold acrylic surfacing. This process involved the application of Laykold concrete primer, two coats of Laykold Advantage acrylic paint and meticulous line marking.
The Results:
Upon completion, the revamped multisport field and courts at the UNSW campus offer state of the art facilities for various sports and recreational activities, meeting the highest quality standards expected of international sports and educational institutions.
