With the growing need for all-weather and durable AFL and rugby fields, LigaTurf artificial turf emerges as an excellent alternative to natural grass. Unlike natural grass pitches that start to deteriorate after 20 hours of use per week, synthetic grass fields can withstand more than 60 hours of vigorous play. LigaTurf provides a consistent playing surface and requires less maintenance, resulting in long-term cost savings and environmental benefits. By opting for an artificial surface, community AFL and rugby clubs can effectively meet the demands of the sport while ensuring sustainability.
The new LigaTurf Cross 250 features Polytan’s exclusive Twintuft formulation that provides the perfect balance of protection, durability, softness and strength suitable for professional clubs and players.
The Twintuft formulation combines RS+ monofilament fibres with texturised LigaGrass filament fibres delivering optimum function capabilities in each system.
RS+ monofilament, non-directional fibres offer the highest performance characteristics such as resilience to wear, controlled traction and rotational values.
The texturised LigaGrass filaments promote durability and encapsulate the infill which reduces ball splash.

The infill and/or filling material used in our LigaTurf football systems ensures optimal playing properties, protects players and athletes against injury and reduces surface heat. There are a variety of synthetic and natural infill options to suit budget, performance and green credentials. The choice of infill is a critical consideration for your field given the variety of synthetic turf surfaces available and recommended maintenance service advice.
Over the years football global sporting bodies including AFL / Cricket Australia, Rugby Australia and NRL have created guidelines and Certifications for the installation of artificial turf fields to safeguard the health of players and officials and to guarantee the integrity of the performance of synthetic fields.
Polytan has well established relationships with these organisations and ensure that all fields that require certification adhere to the relevant stringent guidelines. All LigaTurf systems can be installed by Polytan to meet the AFL/Cricket Australia certification requirements, with most systems suitable for Rugby Australia and NRL certification as well.
