Project Overview:
The Perth Hockey stadium is not only home to Hockey WA but also Hockey Australia’s High-Performance Unit at Curtin University, and it was therefore essential that the field be upgraded to meet the updated profile and performance requirements as introduced by the FIH for elite level hockey in 2017.
Hockey WA awarded Polytan the contract to upgrade the facility based on our strong association with hockey and extensive experience in delivering world-class hockey pitches. The project included:
• Transforming the pavement and surrounding infrastructure
• Installing the Poligras Tokyo GT system which was developed specifically and installed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The Results:
The project had a very tight turnaround time due to an imminent FIH Pro League events between the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras against Argentina. By choosing Australian Made Poligras Tokyo GT, Australia’s elite hockey teams were able to train on the same hockey surface that they would play on at the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.
