Project Overview:
Polytan welcomed the opportunity to support the State Sports Centre Trust (SSCT) in its aim of increasing physical activity, participation and health awareness for the surrounding community, by resurfacing of the existing athletics track at the State Athletics Centre at Lakeside Stadium in 2020. The project included:
• A full grind and recoat of the old surface using Australian made Rekortan M99 in contrasting Rainbow Blue and Grey colours.
• The installation of SmartTracks sensors in the warm-up area of the facility to assist athletes with measuring and documenting their training performance.
The Results:
The track has again received World Athletics Class 1 recertification, allowing the facility to continue to host major international level competitions and events.
