Project Overview:
Polytan achieved a groundbreaking milestone introducing the first ever installation in Australia of our eco-friendly Poligras Paris GT hockey system at Ipswich Hockey Centre’s J.J. Cushing Field. This was a transformative project that revolutionises hockey turf technology in Australia and worldwide.
The project involved many steps starting with the removal of the existing synthetic surface, assessing the underlying shock pad for suitability, and conducting necessary remediation works.
Designed for the 2024 Paris Olympics this innovative surface and is now home to hockey players at Ipswich Hockey Centre. The installation of this state-of-the-art Poligras Paris GT system marked a transformative phase encompassing four training D dashes and prominently featuring the hockey club’s logo. Rigorous testing procedures ensured the new surface met and surpassed the FIH’s stringent certification standards.
Formulated with 80% bio-based materials derived from sugarcane this turf showcases unparalleled UV stability, durability, and exceptional water conservation attributes. Its cutting edge Turf Glide technology minimises surface friction ensuring peak playing dynamics certified by the FIH Global Innovation category for superior performance in both wet and dry conditions.
The Results:
This innovative solution not only sets a new standard for performance but also reduces CO2 emissions by up to 73 tonnes demonstrating Polytan’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The Paris GT synthetic turf signifies a new era in hockey turf delivering unmatched performance while championing ecological responsibility.
