Estadio Hernando Siles in La Paz is the legendary football stadium with a running track, in which is located 3,627 metres above sea level.
The Estadio Hernando Siles was named after the Bolivian president from 1926 to 1930. Organisers chose a classic brick red for the colour of the running track, because it is in perfect harmony with the historical setting of the stadium, which dates all the way back to 1931.
The stadium now offers optimum training and competition conditions for athletes. The 400-metre track dates back to the 1970’s and has been renovated with the IAAF Class 2 certified Rekortan synthetic surface.
The professional sports surface from Polytan, has already proven its fitness for international competition in numerous stadiums around the world. The surface offers a combination of optimum acceleration, tread elasticity and outstanding sports medicine values.
