A new elite hockey system everyone is talking about has been installed for the first time at Crefelder Hockey and Tennis Club in Krefeld.
Poligras Tokyo GT is the world’s first hockey system to incorporate Green Technology (GT). This surface is made from renewable materials, which lowers CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. This new sustainable way of producing hockey surfaces will help save our planet against climate change and global warming.
This new hockey system is the surface of choice for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The new dark blue hockey surface provides faster competition and a higher level of performance. The ball rolls along the surface quicker than any other Poligras hockey surface made before.
Top level hockey tournaments such as the FIH Pro League and German Field Hockey Championships have been played at this venue.
CREFELDER HOCKEY AND TENNIS CLUB
Club, city and state have invested about 500,000 euros to produce this new hockey pitch in time for the FINAL FOUR 2019 games at the Gerd Wellen hockey facility.
The existing shock absorbing base at Crefelder was worn out after 28 years and replaced with a 35 mm thick PolyBase GT elastic layer.
“Poligras Tokyo GT is currently the best hockey turf in the world and we are delighted to be the first ever venue where it has been installed” – Club manager Robert Haake on the new synthetic turf
“We expect many national teams will want to hold training sessions at our facility” – Robert Haake
THE NEW BLUE HOCKEY SURFACE
Blue is a popular colour surface in the world of hockey for many elite hockey competitions, such as the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Players and viewers can easily watch the yellow hockey ball roll across the hockey surface.
Two premium hockey systems are planned to be installed with Poligras Tokyo GT in Mönchengladbach and China.
