Project Overview:

Featuring Polytan’s Australian Made LigaTurf Cross 250 and BrockFILL system, the BEST field sets a new benchmark for synthetic football turf as the first of its kind in Australia.

The LigaTurf Cross system is characterised by a unique ‘twintuft’ that combines monofilament with texturised filament yarn fibres, offering unparalleled performance and durability. Our preferred and recommended organic infill option, BrockFILL, is environmentally friendly and made entirely out of wood chips acquired from fast-growing pine trees.

Polytan delivered the project for Buildcorp and the Blacktown City Council for the BEST in Rooty Hill, NSW. Part of an expansive capital works initiative aimed at establishing a high-performance multisport hub, the project was also designed to cater to the needs of local athletes and the community. Polytan was the natural selection as a partner to deliver the sports surfaces.

Taking over site from the prepared subgrade, the Polytan operations team quickly transformed the site from mud pit to the state-of-the-art sporting field visible today. Contracted items included dense graded pavement, linear drainage systems, concrete detailing, and of course the installation of our revolutionary LigaTurf Cross 250 synthetic turf system. The fields quality was certified to multiple sporting codes including FIFA Quality, World Rugby and NRL Certification a testament to its suitability for high level play and competition for multiple sporting codes.

The Results:

The multifaceted sporting hub’s appeal to soccer organisation, academies, professional teams, international athletes, and the general public is expected to draw around 300,000 visitors. Polytan is proud to have delivered an innovative, and sustainable football field which will encourage collaboration and bring the community together for the years to come.
