We were thrilled to receive these photographs (for the full set of images click here) from the recently completed Bali Sports Foundation outdoor sports facility, which we donated our time and expertise to create, back in March.
To quickly recap, this feat was achieved over five days, thanks to the hard work of everyone who contributed while on our Annual Asia Pacific Conference in Bali.
Polytan provided the new Laykold indoor surface, with line markings for wheelchair rugby, basketball, transforming a very old and dilapidated court into a synthetic multisport surface for wheelchair users.
From building new wheelchair-accessible ramps to painting walls, and even constructing a much needed toilet block with showers; we’re immensely proud of the way the entire team and our agent network pitched in – some of whom also donated much-needed new wheelchairs. And at the end of the conference, the staff took to the wheelchairs and played a friendly afternoon tournament against the BSF.
The completion of these final projects marks the end of the restoration. Sending us these latest pictures, BSF founder Rodney Holt told us how happy he was with the finished court and facilities. “Our jerseys have Polytan emblazoned across the front, in recognition of your support. Once again many thanks!”
We’re incredibly proud of this achievement, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved. It’s heartwarming to know that this has already affected lives for the better. We recently learned that the Foundation team made it through to the finals of a wheelchair tournament in Kuala Lumpur, after being greatly assisted by these donations.
In the words of Sport Group CEO Stephen Niven: “This makes me feel very proud of what we have done, and confirms the worthiness of the donation. Nice work.”
