Australian officials selected for FIH Pro League in 2019!
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that within the team of officials for this year 2019 FIH Pro League there will be eight Australians who will be involved in the kick off of this year’s event. Congratulations to Adam Kearns and Aleisha Neumann (umpires), Shayley McGurk-Davy, Joshua Burt, Tammy Standley and Adam Webster (technical officials) and Minka Woolley and Don Prior (umpire administrators).
The FIH Pro League Umpire Panel comprises the best 46 female and male umpires within competitive field hockey.
The FIH have implemented a combination of live and “virtual” umpire reviews using their new FIH. Live digital platform that will be covering the events. This pioneering technology is widely recoginsed within video assistant umpiring. Our Australian umpires will also be part of the world leading video referral system using the Hawkeye video analysis technology to rule on decisions referred to them by the on-field umpires.
Not only do the umpires get a great view of the game, host broadcasters can take advantage of slow motion replays and alternative angles to truly show the viewer the skill, speed and excitement of the 2019 Pro League games.
The group of official taking part in this event come from all over the world and are truly dedicated to the sport. From continuous training and advancement, through to post event assessments by the FIH board, they ensure the highest standards of officiating are continually being met.
For each FIH Pro League game, the team of Officials will consist of:
- 2 on field umpires
- 1 video umpire
- 1 umpire manager
- 1 match manager
- 2 local judges selected by the host National Association and approved by the FIH to act as technical officials.
